i ask this question because the average jw does not show true love though they are commanded to do so.
the average jw often confesses that the meetings are quite boring.
the average jw complains about almost everything within the org.
JWs seem to well... "if someone gave you a new rolls royce, and it had no wheels, the emblem was gone, and it had a few dents in it would you refuse it?
Funny how I can see through their arguements now that I'm out. Of course I wouldn't refuse a new Rolls Royce even with a few missing parts, but the JWs adamantly claim their religion is the truth, the only truth. So if it has a few "dents", then it can't be the absolute truth. Simple.

I was prompted to post here because I live with a JW. He goes out regularly to meetings and door-to-door. I try to be his friend, but he just pushes me away. I am catholic, is that the reason he doesn't want to get close?
You live with a JW? Interesting, their religion nearly mandates that JWs live with only other JWs. They strongly discourage associating with non JWs so strongly, especially someone from another Christian religion, that I'm surprised you would up living with another JW.
Please tell me how you came to live with a JW. Do you think he is seriously into the JW religion, or is living with a Catholic evidence of a crack in his belief system?

It is wise to be cautious about such tales
Amazing how they are so good about using euphemisms such as 'be cautious' instead of 'blatantly ignore.' What really makes me sick is how they constantly tone down what they really want to say and how they beat around the bush instead of being up front about their thoughts on matters. It's bad enough they persuade members to shun anything anti-WTS; it's sickening to sugar coat their message so it seems more palatable.

I was never baptized, therefore I couldn't have been disfellowshipped. At least I think.
Anyway, I was still into forms of entertainment which revolve around magic. J.K. Rowling was even the subject for one of my essays in my Composition class.

Even when I was ferverently studying with the JWs, I kept hounding them about how they can claim they are God's chosen organization when they started in the late 1800s. If everyone outside of their organization is going to be destroyed, then what about the people from Biblical times to the 1800s? That's a huge chunk of time to not have God's chosen organization on Earth.

My understanding of JW theology is that Jesus took over as King of Heaven in 1914, not that he had his second coming in 1914. In the book The Great Teacher, the last page contains an illustration of Jesus and his angels burning the earth, meaning according to JWs, Jesus has yet to come back and fight the war of Armageddon.
a friend called the other day and in the course of our conversation she mentioned that the jw's had worked her neighborhood (not her words) that morning.
when they knocked on her door, she invited them inside where they proceeded to give their jw rhetoric (2 sisters).
they discussed religion for awhile and then this friend mentioned that she knew someone that use to be a jw (moi).
I'm surprised they gave up on your friend so easily. I'm also surprised they didn't go into their spiel about how all ex JWs are disgruntled and therefore can't be trusted.
They just left without so much as a goodbye? Dubs seem to be losing their fervor. Guess they need some more WT studies about witnessing to strangers.
